Farm Blog - We Remember, Changing produce, Special events

Hello,This week with Remembrance Day it gave me a chance to think about all those lives lost and all those that have served our country and other countries. The politics of war and aggression are not for me to address in this context but what does strike me is the selflessness of so many that have done what they believe was right for the common good. This seems to be a morality that doesn't coexist with capitalism which lauds those who benefit the most, often at the expense of many. If war was the answer we should be living in a very peaceful world. War seems to be a human construct, dare I say a male dominated idea. With half of the populations being female it deserves some consideration as to if this is the way we want to decide to behave.
I like to hope that we can change and decide to coexist even with those we don't agree with. That we can evolve, that we can learn. But for now I send my Gratitude to all those who have and do serve for something greater than the self. Let us Remember.

On another side of life seems like time to change the tires and find all the winter gear. As much as we know it's coming it can still feel like it's just not time.

Some of the summer crops are coming to an end with this likely the last week for slicing tomatoes, some roma tomatoes that we found and the sweet peppers. There's the last of the cabbage available and apples should be available for at least another week but finishing up.

Yukon's are done for the season. Happily there's delicious Red skined white fleshed potato as well as Russets which are delicious roasted or as fries.
If you can keep them cool, dark and dry, they can keep for months. Yukons limited, but Red and Russet now available in 50lb bags. Info in the Market Order link below.

This is a season and time of change. May your heart be filled with the joy of this season, the appreciation for what is and with hope for how we reimagine our world and community.

Please bring back baskets, containers, egg cartons, even bags!
