Happy May, I hope you made it through the sweaty days and didn't put away all your warm clothes. We've even prepared for frost tonight. Definitely feeling like a rollercoaster of weather.
The warmer weather has matured the wonderful perennial crops of rhubarb and asparagus.

Don't fear we're getting close to those consistently warmer days (and nights) that all the frost tender plants are looking for. I'll start putting some outside next week but peppers especially won't go outside till the first and second week of June.
Great time to get your plants and seeds for growing an abundance of food for the summer and winter ahead.
the Garden Center is full of hardy plants that may seem smaller than others available but consider that "bigger is not always better". The bigger the plant the more time it needs to settle in and get it's roots growing. A smaller, sturdy plant will adapt to wind and weather conditions. It's roots can expand rapidly and the plant will flower and set fruit when conditions are right.
