Farm Blog - Oh what a lovely time to dream of all the food to come!

Hello from the gardens,

As we embrace this time of dreaming, hope, and long days, there's nothing quite like the joy of planting seeds and watching them grow. The sight of little shoots poking through the soil never fails to amaze me. Each seedling planted fills me with anticipation for the bountiful harvests of delicious, home-grown food that lie ahead. I can chuckle with the memory of going out to pick zucchini and realizing I need a wheel barrow not a basket cause they became monsters over night. Speaking of abundance.....

Did you know there are over 10,000 recognized varieties of tomatoes? From the hefty Mortgage Lifter to the tiny Yellow Currant, the diversity in sizes, colors, and shapes is astounding. Last year, many of us faced a challenging tomato season with conditions perfect for late blight. It's a good reminder that some varieties have better tolerance to blight.

This year, we're planting lots of blight-resistant tomatoes to ensure a more resilient harvest. We have Stellar, Mountain Merit, and Juliet varieties available if you want to give them a try!

To share the joy of growing, we're offering 50% off all our Annual Seedlings this weekend. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, we love to help you to grow.
