Farm Blog - Market Stand, White sweet Peaches, Cooking Classes

Hello from the gardens,

Beans, beans and more beans. It's wonderful when they start producing but the challenge becomes to keep up with picking. And if you've ever picked 100' row of beans you know the time and energy this takes. If you don't keep the beans picked (often twice a week) then the plants will start to reduce producing as they will put their energy into maturing the beans towards seed for next year.

Did you know there are bush beans and pole or climbing beans? Bush beans produce alot of beans over a shorter period of time. Pole beans take longer to start producing but will then produce over a longer period of time. As well the pole beans you can often pick from a standing position which is sooo much easier!
