Hello from the gardens, ah these are lovely sunny days and happy to have a little warmer nights ahead. The weather is always interesting around the full moon and I'm hopeful that we don't need to worry about frost for at least another month.
The cool season seedlings are ready to go. We've got a great selection of crops that love the cooler weather, will be sweeter and more tender than any that grow during the summer. Spinach, arugula and old fashioned rocket that only grows in the cool. Mustard greens are amazing on their own, added to salads or stir fries, look for Fun jen or Red frills mizuna (giant red and green coming soon). Kale & chard grow wonderfully in the cool, no bugs and even sweeter. Often they will overwinter for early spring greens.
For a fall planting we'll often put metal hoops over them so that when we get to frost time we can easily put row cover or cloth over them. Most of these greens can freeze and be ready to harvest in a day or two. Don't miss out on the best tasting greens of the season!

A freestone orange Peach called Coral Star, Tiffany Rose (sweet firm white flesh), beautiful black, amber Plums and Blue Violet Plums.
Likely the last week for peaches and nectarines!
Next week should be blue Italian plums and fingers crossed for a few more peaches.
