Farm Blog - June busy days

Busy days here at the farm. With our rather strange spring it's been challenging getting the gardens planted and cared for. Lots of trust that it all works out.

Hope you get a chance to drop by and visit all our beautiful little animals. We have 4 three week old goats, 75 Bronze Orlop baby turkies, 190, 4 week old chickens and of course the hens who are always so happy to see you (and any greens).

Garden Walk & Talks happen on Sunday afternoons 1:30pm - 2:30pm. Great chance to see the gardens, what's growing and ask gardening questions.

Sign up now for Summer Children's Growing Lessons. Starting Wed. July 18th, Thurs. July 19th and Saturday July 21st. They run for 6 weeks.

Excited to offer Children's Garden Camp for the whole week of Aug. 20th - 24th. More details to follow

We have one more week at the Thornton Farmers' Market, Friday June 15th, 2-7pm. Then CSA baskets start here at the farm.

Angus Farmers' Markets start Thurs. July 5th and then run every two weeks for the rest of the summer.

Our "Root to Rise" women's retreat has been postponed to Friday August 10th, for a full day of restore and revitalize in the sweet spot of our summer time.

Volunteering at the gardens is a great way to learn, play and relax at the gardens. Wed. mornings and Saturday afternoons are best for us. Please let me know if you are interested.

CSA baskets start the last week of June. Wed. pickup is full but there are some spots available for Saturday pickup.

Market Stand open Thurs. & Fri. 9am-7pm, Sat. 9am-5pm, Sun. 10am-4pm. A lovely selection of tomatoes, peppers, assorted plants for your gardening pleasure, seeds, soil amendments.
On the fresh side we have kale, chard, spinach, salad mix & spicy, arugula, rhubarb and the asparagus is just ending. We have rosemountain potatoes and fabulous baking from Grace.

Hope this gives you a sampling of some of the wonderful things happening at the gardens and looking forward to seeing you.

All the best,
Kim, Tom, Kyra and the Moondance gang.
