Farm Blog - July Goodness, Community Market & More

So sorry for the delay in getting this out.
Hello from the gardens, whew, what summer days full of heat and hopefully some rain in our near future.

The heat has certainly helped the crops to grow and some of the experiments we have done are showing benefits of keeping the ground covered in one form or another.

New this week we have kale, chard, romaine ready and likely zucchini next week. There's even some nice peppers staring to come along.

Fruit from a small orchard by Niagra on the Lake has started with sweet Cherries available this week. Palatines orchard offers ecologically grown, quality fruit that has never been to a sorting station. This means that it is fresh from the tree and has not experienced a sterilization that most commercial fruit would come through.

What's happening at the farm:

Next Saturday...... Summer Moondance Community Market on Sat. July 26th, 10am - 3pm.
Special Children's market as well as tours, live music, wonderful assortment of talented vendors and food. Looking forward to learning more from our community resources, Essa Fire Dept, Lake Simcoe Coalition, Cope Service Dogs.

Reminder

We are not planning to open the Market Stand this season for a number of reasons. Our plan is to transition to a more interactive approach where we will not only offer online ordering but also facilitated U-Pick opportunities starting in July. Stay tuned!

We will continue offering the weekly order form option as the way to what's available from the greenhouse, outdoors and of course the hens. Thank You for supporting small scale growing and community.

Wishing you calm days, with hope and love in your heart.

All the best,
