Farm Blog - Jolly June days, market order form

Happy June, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting and repeat. It's that time of year when everything feels like it needs to happen all at the same time. That being said I seem to have a variety of pieces that I am involved with and of course then there's life.

In this last week, Tiffany and I offered a lovely fun Forage and Lunch at the farm. Enjoying seasonal delights and learning so much. Check out the July, Aug. and Sept offerings!
Then had a wisdom tooth extracted, visited a long lost friend, planted, watered, weeded and harvested. Just yesterday I had an amazing day planting with over 120 young students at a Barrie school. Now we are getting ready for a 80th birthday party on this Saturday afternoon. Did I mention planting, watering, harvesting and weeding.

I can only imagine many are feeling this array of things happening this time of year!

Happily crops in the ground are settling in and looking good. There's young peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers that are still having their flowers taken off as the plants would like some more time to grow big and strong before producing well for the rest of the season. Much of the salad mix has bolted with the heat and new crops are just starting so probably a gap in availability over the next couple of weeks.

The asparagus is finished harvesting for the season and the beautiful ferns are out and gathering up energy so they can provide us with this tasty treat next spring.
The beets have been pulled from the greenhouse and tops separated. So there's a limited number of quarts of these tasty bulbs and we'll package the beet greens separately. Check out the order form.
