Hello, Happy November. A time of harvest what you can, put away everything that you can and get ready for the colder times ahead. Then the annual challenge of when to harvest the last of the greenhouse, pull it all up and plant all the cool loving seedlings waiting to get in the ground. Well today was the day and feels great to be getting the new crops planted.
The spinach, salad, mustards, arugula, kale, chard and more will start producing until we get constantly freezing nights. Usually start to mid December but sometimes we keep harvesting into the new year.
The crops will wake up as the days grow longer and the nights less freezing. Often by the middle of March we can start harvesting again. The season's continue.
It's a great part of the year with storage potatoes now available. Means if you can keep them cool, dark and dry, they can keep for months. Yukons limited, but Red and Russet now available in 50lb bags. Info in the Market Order link below.
This is a season and time of change. May your heart be filled with the joy of this season, the appreciation for what is and with hope for how we reimagine our world and community.
Please bring back baskets, containers, egg cartons, even bags!
