Happy February, Well so much for not shovelling! The doors are even frozen solid to get into the greenhouse. I followed some bunny tracks and they lead to the greenhouse and they have burrowed underneath and found a way in. Good to know somebunny is enjoying fresh greens =)
This is the season of planning, of conferences, learning opportunities and meetings in the farming world. Guelph hosts one of the top conferences in January.
Locally on Sunday March 1st it's the AGM for the NFU -National Farmers Union held at the Angus Recreation Centre (8529 County Rd.10, Angus, ON, L0M 1B2, Angus, ON L0M 1B0) from 11 am to 2 pm. Please message me for more details.
We are so excited to host our first (in a long time) in-person AGM for our local. We hope that this will offer better opportunities for our local farmers to connect. We are pleased to offer a delicious, locally sourced lunch so that we can share a meal together as a community.
We have invited Erin Common Ground to present about the work they've been doing as a local, farmer-led group that aims to "cultivate the soil of community" to seed change and support soil health . We hope that their message will inspire us all to take up the torch of tending community and find those connections among us. The AGM is an opportunity to start creating the type of local farm ecosystem that we would like to see, together.
