Farm Blog - Cooking classes, August abundance, Perennial sale

Hello from the gardens,

Time to start thinking of preparing for upcoming season and making the most of the abundance that's here now. Time limited opportunities for many crops as who know what the weather and conditions will be a month from now.

Those extra large zucchini make amazing muffins, loafs, brownies that can be made and frozen for winter enjoyment. Don't have time to make now? Shred the whole zucchini (without the seeds and center) and freeze in one or two cup portions.

I didn't even mention the delicious stuffed zucchini that makes enough for many.
Oh the sweet memories of my Mom busy canning, baking, freezing all kinds of fruit and veg for the winter for us to enjoy. How fortunate we were and didn't even know!
