Hello from the gardens, whew, what summer days full of heat and hopefully some rain in our near future. Well I keep hoping for rain, maybe tomorrow!
We've been flat out busy getting ready for an exciting Saturday. For orders this week it will be busy in the barn, our table is in the big door and to the left. You'll have to park closer to the road or behind our house and enter the magical market mele. We will also have additional produce from Harris Farms, beans, broccoli, head lettuce and lots of beets!
Happily the gardens keep growing and it's nice to see more crops starting to mature here.
New this week we have Zucchini & Kohlrabi. Kohlrabi is an interesting relative of the cabbage, kale, broccoli family. To me they look like a spaceship and when you peel it the taste is like the inside of the broccoli stem but sweeter and mild.
Fruit is abundant, There's a early sweet peach called Harrow Diamond, fresh Apricots, both Early Yellow and blush Red Plums and the last of the sweet Cherries.
What's happening at the farm:
This Saturday...... Summer Moondance Community Market on Sat. July 26th, 10am - 3pm.
Amazing Hardy Perennials, 50% off Sale, some free seedlings, some great herbs.
Selection of Harris Farms vegetables and more at the farm table offerings!
Special Children's market as well as tours, live music, wonderful assortment of talented vendors and food. Looking forward to learning more from our community resources, Essa Fire Dept, Lake Simcoe Coalition, Cope Service Dogs.
