Farm Blog - Classic Fall, Apples and Garlic planting time

Hello from the gardens, ah such beautiful fall days with only a few days of cold & wet. Wonderful to have the opportunity to get the gardens cleared and ready for planting the winter green manure crop. We have started clearing the greenhouse and have lots of green tomatoes, check out the attached ideas (you have to try fried green tomatoes!).

It's also Garlic Planting time! Anytime now is a great time to plant garlic (see attached tutorial), we have planting garlic at the market stand now.

Beautiful, crisp apples. We have Honey Crisp, Macs, Golden Delicious and even Anjou Pears. Such a good way to enjoy seasonal eating and keep healthy in this challenging time of season.

Peppers, we had to pick all the peppers as they are sensitive to the cold, so a great supply and assortment of peppers available. Wonderful cut up and frozen for winter stirfries, stews and more.

Otherwise at market:
Butternut, delicata winter squash
Yukon, red potatoes
Giant Leeks
Kale
Slicing tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes
Beets
Carrots
etc.......

Sunday Oct. 20th, Market Stand is closing at 2pm. Wed. afternoon we will now be closed.
OPEN: Thurs., Fri. 9-6pm, Sat. 9-5, Sun. 10-4. until Sun. Nov. 3rd. and look forward to seeing you as the season starts to slow.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend of beautiful fall weather.

All the best,
Kim & Tom
