Farm Blog - April showers and more showers...

Happy April, It may not feel like planting weather, but there are those little windows of nice weather and now is a great time to get cool season crops growing.

You get the sweetest spinach, mild arugula, crunchy miners lettuce and cilantro that doesn't bolt.

A seed doesn't germinate unless the temperature is just right. Nature's wisdom.

Great crops to plant now, spinach, peas, radishes, mustards, lettuces.

- we have seedlings available in 4 cell packs ( on the Market order form)
preorder for pickup starting next Sat. April 25th

May you find time to rest outside and soak up the sounds, smells and change in the air.

Rewilding Education is also getting ready for spring and it's a great time to check out and sign up for awesome child and family based programs for the season ahead. Check out www.rewildingeducation.ca

Sauerkraut is available on the order form. It's raw, fermented and red. Amazing how a few red cabbages colours all the cabbages, carrots and onions to this deep red. It also tastes a little different this year as the salt used is super high in many minerals, called Sacred Salts naturescargocanada.ca/product-category/sacred-salts

Greens are growing and in our near future. Hopefully next week Yum!

Raw Local Honey from Singh With the Bees
We have a small batch of raw, unpasteurized honey available from Singh With Bees, produced at Nirvana Natura Farms in Angus. It is harvested in small quantities, very lightly strained, and never overheated. www.singhwithbees.ca
