Happy July, what a lovely change in the weather. Almost hard to believe that i needed long pants and a sweater this morning. Ah and having the windows open for that fresh breeze. Hmmm so lovely.
Much to appreciate as last week Amanda and I had the hard conversation of what to do if the weather and smoke conditions continued this week and making canceling our Saturday event a consideration. So happy for what is and a lovely looking day for this coming Community Market. Hope you can come, it's from 10am to 2pm.
There's 24 community vendors and resources, farm and forest tours (10:30 and 1:30), story time by the yurt (11am). Lots of places to sit, delicious and wonderful foods and community connections to make.
For the farm, there's no order form this week as we'll have a table with our fresh dug garlic, lots of eggs, assorted veg and the first of the fruit from a small orchard that practices ecological growing. What a delicious time of the year. There's peaches, yellow plums, sweet cherries and fresh apricots.
We will also have,
Free strawberry plant seedlings, bare root (they are a June bearing variety called Kent), we have allot of babies and would love to share. Put them in the ground now and next June they'll start producing.
Garlic harvest has started, not cured but still delicious to eat.... you just want to eat them over the next month or so.
