Farm Blog - Market message, Hello August, Sweet time of the season

Happy July, well almost August. Feels like it just turned July so it's surprising to see August on the calendar for this week. Just a good reminder to soak up the next month and a half before we welcome in Fall.

The garlic is out of the ground and curing. Likely another week will see the first of the cured garlic ready. In the meantime we have fresh garlic ready for you, which is crunchy, tangy and delicious. Keeps for another month.

So much gratitude for a wonderful market last Saturday. I got some fun handmade crafts from our junior vendors, we love the hand crafted soap we got and the big joy is a beautiful and functional cutting board from the ever talented Randy. I love shopping local cause I know what it means when people choose to support you and it means that much more when I know who made it.

Thank you to all those who made this event come together.

Thank you to all those who attended.

Gratitude from Kim & Tom

The warmth and rain is welcome in the gardens. There's now the most delicious beans ready, the first crop of cabbages, Thai (cinamon) basil and soon a selection of cucumbers and hot peppers.
The tomatoes are starting to size up and hopefully cherries in a few weeks.

The delicious fruit has returned this year from Palentines orchard who choose to grow as naturally as possible.
- use beneficial insects
- focus on soil health
- no or low spray
- pick as close to ripe as possible
- do not use a bleach bath
Bottom line they grow really delicious fruit!

There's freestone Peaches coming up.

The ones this week are: The Harrow Diamond peach is about 3/4 freestone. This early peach is delicious for eating. It is medium-sized, with yellow flesh.

Then there's amazing fresh Apricots, Yellow Plums, special deal on Small Peaches and even some jars of last years Canned Peaches.

If you are looking for larger quantities, the peaches can be preordered in 25lb boxes.
Let me know at least a week ahead.
