Happy August, With the crops being more predictable I'll be putting out the Market Message on Tuesday's and to make our lives a little easier, orders will close end of Thursday (8pm). With more harvesting and prep needed it will allow us Friday to get everything ready for you.
There's so much ripening and getting ready in the garden. New this week is hot peppers (jalapeno, chilli and hot hungarian) and eggplant.
The garlic is nicely cured and ready for eating, storage and seed. There's more options on the order form and larger quantities will be available as we get it cleaned up.
Looks like for next week we'll have the start of cherry tomatoes, radishes, salad mix, sweet peppers, tomatillos and ground cherries
This is the time of garden abundance and a great time to eat what you can, freeze, can or dry what you can.
Beans and cucumbers as well as Rainbow Chard and Kale are in abundance this week.
Kale and Chard are on sale for $3.50/200g bunch. So great to freeze some for the winter and I love the chard stalks as celery.
There's new purple beans (like in the picture), then the tasty Roma flat green beans and a lovely round yellow bush bean ready.

Then there's cucumbers, with so many different types. The pickling cucumbers, field cucumbers, white martini cucumbers, english cucumbers and middle eastern (like a half size english).

What a delicious time of year.
A sweet treat is that there's a fresh harvest of honey. Now available 330g jar - $10, 500g jar - 13 and 1kg jar - $25
The delicious fruit has returned this year from Palentines orchard who choose to grow as naturally as possible.
- use beneficial insects
- focus on soil health
- no or low spray
- pick as close to ripe as possible
- do not use a bleach bath
Bottom line they grow really delicious fruit!
Galaxy peaches are the bigger version of Saturn peaches, if you had some last week you know what a tasty treat they are. Only this available this week!
If you are looking for larger quantities, the peaches can be preordered in 25lb boxes.
