Farm Blog - Fall Growing Lessons

We are excited to be offering the fall session of Growing Lessons for children. Similar to learn to swim, piano, skating these are classes offered once a week for one hour in a small class size. The different levels will build a knowledge base and experience that will be a lifelong gift of knowing how to grow food and see our connection with the natural world.

The fall session will focus on harvesting, seed saving and cool season crops over the 6 weeks. Activities often involve feeding the turkey's and chickens as well as plants and seeds to take home.

We have had so much fun and good feedback with our groups so far, Thank you to all the wonderful parents and gardeners!

"My kids have been coming to Moondance's growing program since the spring. They absolutely love it. Throughout the sessions, they have planted all kinds of flowers and vegetables. In result of the kid's classes we ended up having a small garden at home this year and they take care of it. They learned so many things from the caring people at Moondance! Every Saturday they are so excited to get up and go to the farm. We usually get there early and then they don't want to leave! It was the best decision we made as parents to offer them this program this year, they understand better where their food comes from, they appreciate the food that much more and they eat all the veggies!
thanks again to Tom, Kim and their fabulous staff and volunteers "
